Newsworthy & Inspiration Quotes

It is clear now that the multi-colored American Dream will never endure if We the People wait for political leaders, institutions, and the “governing elite” to rise to the occasion. Even with these grave issues staring professional politicians in the face, they have conspired to bankrupt the country and allow moral ambivalence to become a way of life. Change must come from new generations of committed citizens.

The time has come, as Geoffrey Ward and Ken Burns write in the companion volume to the Vietnam War miniseries, “to unify, to bind up old wounds, end old ideological arguments, and elect a new generation of leaders more interested in scoring points for America than for themselves and their party.” Above all, we must come to realize that ideological fights, full of hateful rhetoric on the right and the left, are “driving a stake right through the heart of America.” As Ward and Burns state: “We must get over binary political perspectives, and work to reconcile the irreconcilable.”
