IMMIGRATION REFORM: NOW OR NEVER

The real culprit in the immigration crisis is the U.S. Congress. It can resolve the issue, once and for all, by passing comprehensive immigration reform. Cages and detention centers are necessary to prevent the system from being overwhelmed by the sheer size of the hordes surging north.

Last year, over 400,000 people were apprehended trying to illegally cross the border. In the first three months of this year, another 327,000 were stopped.

Here’s what former-president Barak Obama said about the problem, 15 years ago. “We simply cannot allow people to pour into the United states undetected, undocumented, unchecked, and circumventing the line of people who are waiting patiently, diligently, and lawfully to become immigrants in this country.”

Over 30 years ago, former-president Ronal Regan shared similar sentiments in his call for comprehensive immigrant reform.

There is no excuse for the Congress to once again sweep this festering problem under the table.. It’s time to act in 2021.
